Tire size

Tires are manufactured and sold based on three measurements. Those measurements are tire width, tire ratio and tire diameter. A typical tire size is written by using a format that identifies the tire width first, the tire ratio next, followed by the tire diameter. Typically it looks like 205/40/17 or P205/40 R17, where the P means passenger car tire and the R represents radial construction.
